Excess Baggage Insurance - CTS The total value of business travelers' baggage often exceeds the insurance provided by most major carriers. Diners Club recognizes this, and ensures that your CTS travelers are automatically covered by Diners Club Excess Baggage Insurance for theft, loss of, or damage to baggage and most personal effects inside the baggage. There is no cost to you or your CTS travelers, provided that the full airfare has been charged to the organization's Corporate Travel System Account. Coverage is for full replacement or actual cash value, and begins when the baggage is checked in to an agent or skycap, or carried on to the carrier. Excess Baggage Insurance provides automatic coverage for replacement of lost, damaged, or stolen baggage and contents when tickets are charged to a Diners Club Corporate Travel System Account. This coverage is secondary, meaning that if the damage to your travelers’ belongings exceeds the carrier’s coverage, Diners Club will provide further coverage up to $1250* for domestic tickets and $2000* for international tickets. This insurance covers replacement costs for damaged items, or actual cash value (based on depreciation) at the time of loss. No other charge card provider offers this level of excess baggage coverage. When your CTS travelers must file a claim, they should follow our procedures closely and fully cooperate with the police or airline security in reporting stolen luggage. A completed claim form must be returned within 90 days from the date of loss, accident, or damage for the claim to be considered. Your CTS travelers receive this insurance coverage at no cost to them or your organization.
